In front of the Prince and many guests, the Principality rowing club welcomed its eight rowers’ skiff (eight rowers and one helmsman) and a solo skiff on Tuesday night, to the delight of its licensees.
It was a historic moment for the Société nautique. On Tuesday evening, its two new boats were blessed by the deacon of St. Devote, Robert Ferrua, in the presence of the Prince and many personalities gathered for the occasion. The acquisition of an eight rowers’ skiff is a small event in the Principality. In the past, the SNM has had many successes with this type of boat. Decision had then been taken to renew the tradition of the club, while the results at sea are excellent (best French club in 2018) and the ambitions of the SNM continue to grow. This eight skiff is named after Marie-José, who is the wife of the president of the ACM, Michel Boeri. The other boat is a solo skiff, a gift from Rina Spense, consul of Monaco in Boston, who will thus be the godmother. The two boats then went on the water. Kristina Fortuna, Gaetan Delhon, Magali Albin, Mélanie Delval, Maxime Maillet, Mathias Raymond, Clara Stefanelli, Ludovic Dubuis and Clara Maillet inaugurated the eight rowers’ skiff, while Giuseppe Alberti did his outing with the solo skiff.
