Lycée Technique et Hôtelier: 150 lunches and 75 dinners prepared and delivered per day

4 April 2020 - 7h39

Since the start of the coronavirus crisis and in order to best support Monegasques and residents, the town hall has extended its home meal distribution service to seniors over the age of 70 and to the frail people. In total, 150 lunches and 75 dinners are prepared each day by the teams from the Lycée Technique et Hôtelier de Monaco (LTHM).

In a press release, the town hall informs that “since 18th March, these meals have been prepared within the LTHM with the enthusiastic agreement of Isabelle Bonnal, director of National Education, Youth and Sports and under the leadership of headmaster Jean-Marc Deoriti-Castellini, who is also 6th deputy mayor”. To ensure the preparation of these additional meals, the LTMH teams including the steward, staff members and cooking teachers (Jean-Philippe Boussious, Gilles Brunner, Gérard Giraudi, Alain Maréchal, Franck Martinez and Benoît Perruchon) unanimously joined forces to support the elders of the Principality. “While all schools in the Principality are closed, the LTHM opens its kitchens from Monday to Friday for the production of balanced and varied meals, the number of which is constantly increasing. Each day, 150 lunches and 75 dinners are prepared in the kitchens of the LTHM before being delivered to the home by refrigerated truck by staff of the Seniors Service and Social Action of the town hall, accompanied by volunteers from the Monegasque Red Cross.”

In the town hall and in the field, it is the staff of the Seniors Service and Social Action under the direction of Isabelle Cellario, which manages the daily reservations and dispatching of meals. The Service du Domaine Communal, Halles et Marchés – with the help of the chef of the municipal restaurant Julien Baldacchino and under the direction of Evelyne Folco – is in charge of creating the menus in collaboration with the chefs of the LTHM and ordering the raw materials.
