On the initiative of the Union des Français de l’Etranger-Monaco, a debate was organized on March 7th for the French of Monaco at the Maison de France rue Grimaldi.
UFE-Monaco wished to contribute to the great national debate organized by the French government. Sixty people had responded to the invitation for this meeting, which was held in a calm and constructive atmosphere after President Christophe Pisciotta recalled the context in which this debate was organized. It also noted the presence of four elected officials who contributed to the debate without changing the nature: Samantha Cazebonne, French deputy abroad (5th constituency), Jean-Yves Leconte, Senator of French abroad, Jean -Luc Delcroix, Counselor at the Assembly of French Abroad for Southern Europe, Consular Adviser and Mission Manager The Republicains in Monaco and Michelle Mauduit-Pallanca, Consular Adviser .Three topics were discussed: taxation and public expenses ; democracy and citizenship and, finally, the organization of the state. Regarding the first theme, the interventions and proposals have largely focused on the problems faced by the French of Monaco in terms of taxation and social contributions especially compared to other French nationals abroad. At the same time, pensions have been the subject of various remarks, whether in general terms indexation or transfer to the French regime for those leaving the Principality. When the second theme was debated, the choice of the place of vote for the French of Monaco was the subject of various remarks while a proposal was made on the white vote and that was emphasized the need to maintain a consulate to Monaco. Several proposals have also been made in the context of improving the organization of the state. A debate once again very constructive of which all the subjects can not be mentioned but which will be transmitted within the framework of the national debate.
