Monaco-Albania relations strengthen

11 April 2019 - 15h22

Edi Rama, Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, paid an official visit to the Principality from the perspective of economic and environmental cooperation of the two states on Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 April.

The cooperation between the two countries is now essentially economic and environmental. In environmental matters, several joint projects have recently been initiated. As for the economic issues, a meeting was organized by the Monaco Economic Board on April 10 at the Yacht Club during which the ambassador of Albania spoke about a project to develop a luxury marina on the Adriatic coast.

This visit follows that made in Albania by the Sovereign on October 16, 2018. It testifies to the dynamism and the affirmation of the Monegasque diplomacy around the commitments carried by the Prince. This leads the Principality to build constructive relations with a large number of States and in particular to work with those who share a common affiliation to the Mediterranean geographical area.

It should be noted that next October, the President of the Republic of Albania, Ilir Meta, will pay an official visit to the Principality
