The Monegasques received yesterday the questionnaire on the quality of life that had announced the National Council by the voice of its president in mid-September. They must return it before October 28th.
Such a questionnaire is a first in Monaco, it was sent to all Monegasques over 18 years old. In the accompanying letter, the President of the National Council, Stéphane Valéri and the chairman of the Environment and Quality of Life Committee, Guillaume Rose, explain the purpose: “Because the quality of life in Monaco is an essential subject, At the heart of your concerns, we have the honor to send you, together with this letter, a consultation that will allow you to express yourself. ” They explain this initiative further: ” Because the preservation of the quality of life is central to the everyday life of all and that the Principality is, rightly, one of the pillars of its attractiveness, we decided, with all the unanimous elected, to launch this great approach of listening, so that each of you can give his point of view freely and in complete confidentiality. “
In practice, the 40 questions were classified into four themes: generalities around the quality of life, impact of building sites on the quality of life, traffic and means of transport and finally “my environment“, a section that should allow people consulted to indicate whether they feel well informed on a number of topics. As for the answers, they are conceived in the following way: “totally agree, rather agree, rather disagree, totally disagree, without opinion.” It is specified that the answers will be treated statistically and completely anonymously by a large independent opinion research institute BVA.
Residents and employees interviewed online
In addition, it is recalled that in parallel to this consultation reserved for Monegasques, an online study is launched which will allow residents and employees of Monaco living in neighboring municipalities to express themselves in turn. The result of these studies will be made public. “Your answers will help us better represent you in our discussions with the government so that new and effective measures clearly felt are implemented“, said Stéphane Valéri and Guillaume Rose. Which underline the importance of the number of answers. This number is obviously fundamental for consultation in general, but also to reduce the risk of having a higher proportion than in reality of the responses of discontented people who are often more inclined to manifest themselves than others.
