This was announced today! The Princess will start the 87th edition of this flagship event, which includes the super final of the 2018-2019 season and the FIA World Endurance Championship.
“We are delighted and proud to announce that Princess Charlene of Monaco has agreed to be The 2019 Le Mans 24 Hours Starter. Her personality symbolizes the major role women have to play in motorsports and in society” said Pierre Fillon, president of the Western Automobile Club (ACO).
A more feminine race. The participation of the Princess embodies the message conveyed in recent years by the ACO: make car races and their professions accessible to women. A dream, which becomes reality for some, because highlights the ACO, among the 62 crews this year, a trio engaged by Kessel Racing, LM GTE AM category, composed of Rahel Frey, Manuela Gostner and Michelle Gatting will be in the running!
