Good results for the SNM youth

23 June 2019 - 14h01

20 rowers (men and women) from the Société Nautique de Monaco were involved in the South-East zone championship, which was held last weekend in Macon. Three podiums have been achieved and four qualifiers for the French championship are worth noting!

Competitions come one after another for the SNM. Present in Macon in the weekend to compete in the French South-East zone championship, and despite the rain that paralyzed the event on the first day, the club can congratulate itself, once again, on the good performance of its 20 members. In the J14 (the 14-years-old category), Lucas Fauché won and Juliette Raimondo ended at the second place. Both were also involved in quadruple sculls, alongside Martina Sgarbi, Léo Oncina and Nicolas Vogogna (coxswain), and ended at the sixth place in a high-level category. “It’s a very good thing for the club to have the best and second best competitors of the Minime category. This also gives a good mixed-sex boat!”, stated Daniel Fauché, the general coach of the SNM.

Heading to the French championships

Regarding the J16, the women’s quadruple sculls, led by Julianne Lepra, Amanda Tello-Adam (who was, last week, in Bourges with the Seniors), Gaia Chiavini and Chloé Philibert, ended on the podium. “We’re used to the good results of the girls, but it’s always a pleasure”, smiled Daniel Fauché. Five boats were looking to qualify for the French championships and four boats succeeded. This foresees a good participation in the competition. For the Cadets and Espoirs categories (under-23-years-old), the next event will take place at the beginning of July, with a trip to Libourne (Gironde), while the J14 will compete on the Mantes-la-Jolie water body from June 28th to 30th . All are in training class during this weekend without competition.
