Collection for Beirut

The diocese of Monaco informs that through the Caritas association, an international confederation of Catholic charitable organizations present in more than 200 countries and territories, it is organizing a fundraiser in favour of the inhabitants of Beirut affected by the explosions on Tuesday latest. A collection will be organized this weekend at the end of Sunday Masses in all the churches of Monaco and the parish of the Holy Spirit (Beausoleil, Cap d´Ail, La Turbie, Peille).
Solidarity: the Monegasque Red Cross offers 100,000 euros to Lebanon

The explosions on Tuesday which killed more than a hundred people and a total of more than 5,000 injured in Beirut led to a wave of solidarity, including in the Principality where there is a community of several hundred Lebanese residents. In this context, the Monegasque Red Cross is dedicating 100,000 euros to help the population of the country already hit by an economic, social and health crisis.

The Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra is giving one of its two concerts this season this evening (by invitation only) in the courtyard of the Prince's Palace. Under the direction of Juraj Valčuha with the violinist Maxim Vengerov. Works by Bizet, Schreker and Mendelssohn.
New signing for the Roca Team

A new reinforcement on the back line has just signed for AS Monaco Basket. The Monegasque club have secured the services of Abdoulaye Ndoye. Trained by Cholet Basket (CB) since he was 15, the Frenchman, now 22, made his Jeep Elite debut at 18. He then gradually settled into the CB major five. "I am drawn to the daily demands of a club like ASM, I have come to step out of my comfort zone. Monaco, for me, is a step forward and it was in my eyes the best choice," commented the player on the announcement of his signing.
Monaco Vidéo Electrique, a new company qualified in cybersecurity

Monaco has now four companies qualified as Information Systems Security Audit Service Provider (ISSASP). Dominique Riban, director of the Monegasque Digital Security Agency (MDSA), presented Cristiano Toso, director of Monaco Vidéo Electrique, with this diploma, as indicated in a government press release.
The Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo performs at Fort Antoine at 9:30pm

Under the direction of Kazuki Yamada, the Philharmonic Orchestra will perform a performance titled Sérénade au Clair de lune. The orchestral woods will take over Mozart, Debussy and Gounod. Kazuki Yamada, who has directed the Monegasque Philharmonic Orchestra since September 2016, first studied music at the University of Fine Art and Music in Tokyo, then continued at the Mozarteum International Summer Academy in Salzburg, Austria. His rapid international notoriety enabled him to conduct the philharmonic orchestras of St. Petersburg, Stockholm and Paris. In 2017, he succeeded in filling the Philharmonie de Paris with the very first performance of the Principality Philharmonic Orchestra in the capital.    
Khatia Buniatishvili in concert at the Opéra Garnier at 8:30pm

The talented Georgian pianist will perform this evening at the Salle Garnier, offering a recital oscillating between Mendelssohn, Schubert, Debussy and Franck. Introduced to the piano by her mother at the age of three, Khatia Buniatishvili gave her first concert at the age of six. Having played for the BBC and Paris Symphony Orchestras, the emeritus pianist is also a soloist and chamber musician. Signed under the Sony Classical label, her latest album released in 2019, titled Schubert, is available on legal download platforms.
