Last day of basketball court 3×3

7 August 2019 - 11h29

Last Monday, a 3×3 basketball court was set up for the first time on the port Hercule thanks to the town hall, to A.S. Monaco Basket and French Riviera 3×3. The perfect opportunity to introduce this new basketball formula to passers-by! Notice to the sportsmen, it remains only this day to continue to take advantage of the ground and the animations proposed.

For nearly ten days, big and small ignited the free basketball court from 4pm to 9pm. From the first day, the training as well as the initiation sessions filled up the participants at 6pm. Even toddlers have been spoiled with an inflatable structure also made available. For this last day, French Riviera 3×3 promises many animations, enough to attract new followers!

A sport for all

Formerly known as “street basketball”, this new Olympic discipline is ready to thrill the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. Faster, since basketball players have only 12 seconds to score and more intense, by the number of players, this practice adapts to any level. And for proof, last Thursday, the hosts of the field received the athletes of Special Olympics Monaco for a session rich in twists and smiles, “a very nice moment of sharing,” said the organization on social networks shortly after the animations.

A satellite tournament

But the highlight of the event took place last Saturday at the first 3×3 professional satellite tournament held in Monaco with the participation of Jeep Elite players and even a team from Monaco. “A great success”, welcomed by French Riviera 3×3, in front of the number of spectators. At the end of the competition, the France U23 team won the final. In short, a beautiful “first time” to renew next year.
