The ministerial decision of June 26th on the relaxation of certain rules applicable to gatherings and sports activities was published in the Journal de Monaco on Friday. Unsurprisingly, it provides that gatherings of more than ten people on public roads and spaces are now prohibited, while the decision of April 28th fixed this number at only five.
This decision of June 26th, which modifies the previous one and introduces exceptional measures within the framework of the gradual resumption of activities with a view to fighting the epidemic of covid 19, stipulates above all, as we indicated on Saturday, that “by derogation, events gathering more than ten people and respecting a maximum gauge of 5000 people, may be punctually authorized within the framework of the organization of an event or a singular event. The corresponding authorization request must be lodged beforehand with the competent administration services, accompanied by a complete file including in particular the protocol of sanitary measures envisaged”. A real opening for the organizers of these events, therefore.
In the sports field, even if it is subject to certain rules, the practice of individual physical and sports activities indoors or outdoors is authorized while, since June 26th, covered sports establishments “may be open”. On the other hand, the practice of physical and sporting activities called contact remains prohibited.
As has been pointed out, sports associations and federations can therefore resume their activities subject to validating their protocol of the measures implemented by the health authorities. Among the criteria, the plan for cleaning and disinfecting the premises, the practice of sporting activity while respecting barrier gestures, an area of 4sqm per person for collective changing rooms, contactless spaces of 2m if possible, individual organization of snacks and hydrations (bottles, etc.), non-exchange of personal effects (towels, etc.), while more generally favoring personal materials, except to disinfect the equipment if it should be shared.
Rules which take on their full meaning as the appearance of new cases of covid 19 in recent days, even if their primary origin is outside the Principality, must lead to remaining vigilant.
