For the fourth edition of the exhibition dedicated to art and design which starts today at the Grimaldi Forum, artmonte-carlo enriches its artistic offer by inviting the Pavilion of Art and Design. The event, whose direction lies with Thomas Hug, offers several novelties that the public can discover until Sunday.
This fourth edition artmonte-carlo is under the sign of the novelty. Among the innovations, the show initially focused on the integration of new brands, including White Cube, 303 Gallery, Raffaella Cortese, Mazzoleni and Skopia. They thus join the loyal galleries present since the creation of artmonte-carlo such as Victoria Miro, Blain|Southern, Kamel Mennour or Perrotin.
But the big surprise of this edition is the arrival of the Pavilion of Art and Design, a real institution for collectors or art lovers. Located in the Diaghilev area of the Grimaldi Forum, communicating with artmonte-carlo, it hosts 25 galleries specialized in the fields of design, decorative arts and primitive arts. Also discover the section of ten solo exhibitions presented by galleries that highlight an artist. For this purpose, the Solo artmonte-carlo – F.P. Journe prize was awarded yesterday to Cinzia Ruggeri of Federico Vavassori gallery by a jury composed of Beatrix Ruf, Teresa Mavica and Cristiano Raimondi. With its affiliation to the prize, the Genevan watchmaking company acquires a work by the award-winning artist, offered at the New National Museum of Monaco.
Events in the margins
From the entrance of the show, visitors are greeted by an installation of Anna Boghiguian lent by the Silvia Fiorucci Roman collection. The sculptures are also honored with the exhibition Face to Face mixing different works including three major of the Chinese artist Wang Du to find on the outdoor esplanade. Outside the walls, it’s at the Riva Tunnel that British artist Zoe Williams planned to perform with a Ruffles installation. Not to mention the international platform Forum, whose godmother is Beatrice Casiraghi, which is dedicated to the production of thought, collaborations and exchanges of art professionals and thinkers or Criss-Cross, another professional network.
